Meet the Team of Harbor Point Animal Hospital

We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets!

Dr. Jamie Laity

Dr. Laity knew from a very early age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. In her lifetime, she has been privileged to share her heart with 9 cats, 6 dogs, 3 horses, and 1 quail!

Dr. Laity grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and after high school, moved to Lexington, KY, to pursue her passion for horses. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky (GO BIG BLUE!) and then promptly moved to Athens, Georgia, to earn her DVM at UGA. While at UGA, she found her love for small animal practice and decided to pursue a career as a general practitioner.

As a veterinarian, Dr. Laity spends much of her time focusing on preventative medicine – helping your pet live its best life. She also enjoys surgery, dentistry, and practice management. Her greatest sense of satisfaction comes from interacting with clients and making a positive difference in their lives and those of the animals they love. Dr. Laity is Fear-Free Certified.

Dr. Laity’s fur family is always growing! She initially came to Charlotte with two cats. In the last four years, her family has grown to include two cats (Bridget Jones and Fitz Herbert,) three dogs (Koda, Barley, and Layla), and two horses (Daenerys and Drogon)!

Between work and her own pets, Dr. Laity finds time to learn new hobbies and take on as many DIY projects as she can handle! She enjoys traveling and loves to experience different parts of the world. She has found a new interest in landscaping and trying her hand at water sports on Lake Norman. Her guilty pleasure is all things chocolate!

Dr. Breanna Caltagarone

Dr. Breanna Caltagarone made her way to North Carolina from Pennsylvania. She developed a love of science and animals at a young age. After getting her first job working with a veterinarian, she was hooked and knew veterinary medicine was for her.

She graduated from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor in Science. After graduation, she moved to Philadelphia for graduate and veterinary school. She graduated from Drexel University and then attended the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. She then completed a rotating internship in the D.C area.

Dr. Caltagarone has been practicing emergency medicine in Charlotte and Pennsylvania for the past 7 years. She has special interests in feline medicine, emergency and critical care, surgery, and the human-animal bond.

Dr. Caltagarone is a cat lover and her home is currently run by three rescue felines Mickey, Nitro, and the newest addition Ozzie. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and all North Carolina has to offer, trying her hand cooking new recipes (and usually failing!), and reading.

Dr. Kieran Kelly
Dr. Kieran Kelly

Dr. Kelly spent her life in New Jersey until veterinary school took her across the Atlantic Ocean to Ireland. Upon completing veterinary school at the University College Dublin, she completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at a busy specialty and emergency practice in NJ. Since then, Dr. Kelly has spent the last few years working in busy ERs and general practices.

When she was growing up, Dr. Kelly always imagined her grown-up house would be a zoo. While she hasn’t quite gotten there yet, she currently has a very friendly collie mix named Luna, a cantankerous Irish calico named Maisie. She shares custody of two wheaten terriers, Max and Ruby, with her parents. She hopes to add to the menagerie in the future. She enjoys reading, binging TV shows, and unwinding with friends and family in her free time.
